BRIEF:
To bring back the identity from the 50’s into a modern boutique hotel with a wow factor.
In this project we were responsible for the design of the ground floor (which includes the lobby, bar, lounge, library and bathrooms), breakfast restaurant on the first floor and the restaurant and bar on the thirteenth floor.
All the history that breathes through the walls from the old Hotel Viking, designed by Knut Knutsen for the 1952 Winter Olympics, was our inspiration to create a timeless, unforgettable, yet up-to-date design. We brought back elements from the existing building from 1952, such as the pink colour from the façade on the lobby ceiling and the bronze columns inspired by the existing window frames.
The furniture and decoration were handpicked from high-quality producers and specifically designed for this project, creating a unique look.
